The Rotary Dial Issue 39

Hello old pals! It has been a long time since the last one of these. I am now a first-year English teacher and the publishing game has perceptibly slipped! Summer is coming soon, and I will be back on the horse. Here’s an oldish one that just came out in this month’s Rotary Dial. About Donald Rumsfeld. Kind of. You can get it here for a mere buck.

Also, as always, I love Canada. Thanks Canada

GRAVEL June 2015

Hello all! It’s summer today, and here‘s a summer evening poem written some years ago when I was waiting to come to America. Kathleen my lovely wife donated one of her photographs to the effort. Incidentally, you can find more of her work, and even procure her services for weddings, family shoots and more at parenthesisphotography.com. Isn’t that cool. More coming in the next day or so. Buenas tardes!

YAY! LA Magazine

Alright, so here‘s a very recent one, written in the miserable weather at the start of the month, and newly published by the very cheerful YAY! LA Magazine in honour of National Poetry Month. Hooray! It’s accompanied by lovely artwork by Tracie Cheng.

In other news: spring!

New poem up at Sunlit magazine. Hope it pleases. More coming soon. xx

Corium Magazine Issue 17

New poem out in the latest online issue of Corium Magazine. It’s fairly tangentially about a man covered in bees. Enjoy!

In Parentheses

Brand new poems now up at In Parentheses, a journal of new modernist writing. They’re from a series I’ve been writing based on a few of my favourite jazz compositions, in this case “Pannonica” from Monk’s Brilliant Corners and Ellington’s “The Mooche”, best version to be found on Ellington Uptown. Both are on Youtube and well worth a listen. Currently working on a longer narrative sequence based on Duke’s life.
